17 Weeks!!!

Something suddenly came over me and I was just amazed that we are at 17 weeks! I don’t know if I just got comfortable at 16 or what…

How Far Along: 17 weeks – 4/18/12

Size of Baby: Little one is the size of an apple at 5 inches and weighs approximately 5 ounces! Shane finds it fun to hold the measurement up to my belly to see how much space she is taking up.

Baby Updates:  She is beginning to hear sounds, like my heart beat and voice. She has also mastered the art of yawning and organs are now well-developed.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: According to my scale at home I’m up 1 pound this week for a total of 9.

Maternity Clothes: Still wearing larger or elastic band pants and leggings.  My tops are still fine but for comfort I’ve been finding some flowy tops to add to my wardrobe. When I was shopping with my mom I also found some maxi dresses.

Gender: Baby S is a girl…and does not have a name yet…

Sleep: Okay…I’ve been trying to get used to sleeping on my side and it isn’t going very well for me.  Occasionally I put a throw pillow between my knees and that makes it somewhat more comfortable…but still…

What I miss: Mimosas and deli meat this week.

Cravings: Mexican Food and Frozen Yogurt

Symptoms: I’ve been having headaches a few times a week but that’s probably it…Aside from continually growing out of my clothes I’ve been ok.

Best Moment this week:  Shane and I placed an offer on a house this week and we are still waiting to hear back.  We placed our offer on Sunday, they told us Monday we had until Tuesday to modify it…Shane decided to increase it so fingers crossed!

My mom also found my baby shower invites this week and mailed me the samples and they are super cute!  We are planning two showers…one for our out of state family (scheduled for June 23rd!) and one for our local family and friends (No confirmed date yet).  My mom seems to be having a total blast with all the planning too so it’s fun to watch!

I also got the bedding in that I ordered…originally I was kind of undecided about it because of one patch of the fabric, I think some of it had to do with how the bedding looked in the plastic so it made it look shinier too.
