11 weeks

How Far Along: 11 Weeks – 3.7.2012

Size of baby: A Lime, is about 1.6 inches long, and weighs about a quarter of an ounce.

What Baby’s Up To: The fingers and toes are no longer webbed.  Tooth buds, hair follicles, and nail beds are forming.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still up just 6 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: No, just wearing the new pants I had to buy…BUT I did get the Be Band at Target and it is my new favorite thing!  I can wear my size 4’s again…unbuttoned of course!

Sleep: Ok.  Still waking up about once a night to go to the bathroom

What I miss: Margaritas, Sushi, Ahi Tuna…

Cravings: Frozen Yogurt, and maybe a brownie fudge sundae

Symptoms: Just tired…I’m out by 9, 9:30 at the latest.

Best Moment this week: We got to hear the heart beat for the first time at our 11 week visit.  It was so amazing, I thought it sounded like the consistent beat of horses running at the racetrack…maybe it was just because of the echo.  Along with having my exam I had to do my next favorite thing, give blood.  I am not one that does well around blood, much less letting someone else take it from my body.  Typically I am the person the doctors/nurses call down to give the lab techs a forewarning that I, that patient you are going to have to lie down, use a baby needle, or whatever else, is coming.  I have to say though, this was my paramount visit of all, because not only did the nurse get my vein on the first try, I did pretty well myself.  It was most likely because I kept my eyes closed the entire time and she was kind enough to cover up all my vials of blood.
