It took
convincing the doctor’s office, but Scarlett had her visit slightly
early this month. We had such a busy
schedule with Scarlett staying at my mom’s house for 3 days, Thanksgiving, and
me returning to work- In result she had her visit a week early.
Weight/Length: 9 pounds 15 ounces (25%) and
was 22 inches long (20%)
Physical Changes/Looks: Scarlett was born
with a “stork bite” and “angel kisses” on her face. They are continuing to fade, especially her
angel kisses, sometimes I forget how many she had until she gets fussy. Her stork bite is still visible but has faded
considerably.
Sizes Clothing/Diaper: Scarlett is
still in a size 1 diaper and 0-3 month clothes.
New Sounds/Movements: Her
skills on holding her head up are improving and she holds it up the longest if
she is staring at a face or the color red! She loves to wave her arms around
now at her play mat toys and kick her feet!
Sleeping: Scarlett’s sleeping is continuing to improve! She takes her last
bottle at 8…sometimes it takes her until 9 to finish it and Daddy usually puts
her down around 10, the night owls of our family! Occasionally she would to
stay up with him until 10:30 or 11 but Shane has slowly began to transition her
to an earlier bedtime…now that she stays in her crib until at least 6:30 AM!!!
We have had a
couple days though where she stayed in her crib until 7:45 and I would go get her,
change, and have her bottle ready for her 8 AM feeding.
Eating: Scarlett is currently eating 6-8 ounce bottles 4 times during
the day. Her morning and evening bottle
are the largest and she will usually only take 6-6.5 ounces at 12 and 4.
Typical Day: This being my last few weeks off from work her day consists of getting lots of mommy love! I’m soaking it in before she goes to daycare. She likes a long morning nap after her big breakfast and then she cat naps and plays after 12.
Special Memories: We are loving
interacting with her and getting a facial expression in response…sometimes it’s
a side grin, a full blown smile or her shoving the bottom lip out, either way
we love it!
Play: Scarlett is awake
for much longer periods of time now and it’s so much fun to interact with her!
She has discovered that she can bat at her play mat toys and that gets her
excited to the point where she starts making her noises…and pants kind of like
a puppy!
Around week 7 she
finally began to like her swing, yay! She will watch the mobile spin and the
light fixture long enough for Mommy to dry her hair or get dinner finished!
Special Outings: Scarlett still is
great about running errands with me, but this month we ventured out to
Firewheel Mall with Kennedy, the nail salon (during the day when I knew not
many people would be there), the eye doctor (Mommy’s first appt in 16 years!)
and to the Dallas Arboretum!
Scarlett also experienced her first Thanksgiving and got to meet her Great Grandma and Grandpa!!
way to go scarlett! such a good sleeper! and the prettiest smile :)
